Here is a treasured moment

I am drinking hot chocolate! Do I need to say anything else? I know it is not the most healthy choice, or the most slimming, but sometimes what counts is how it makes you feel. Right now it makes me feel cozy and homey and warm all around!!!

Today was an ideal day, not perfect, but a day I like to aspire too. After work, we had our after school snack, followed by Sophia and Mateo playing a big imaginary game of "going- on- a- trip- in- an- airplane". Meanwhile I cooked dinner. At bedtime I had the patience and conscience to let Sophia draw her four pictures for her bedroom door, and completely organize her desk to help her mind calm down. Mateo bounced on the bed to release his excess energy. Not much later the children went peacefully to bed, and an evening with tantrums was prevented. Phew, deep breath.... mission accomplished! :-)

It takes a huge deal of patience, sensitivity and awareness to know what it is the child needs. How to best guide him/her, especially if the child has a strong will and urge for independence!

I am grateful for Sophia and the messages she has given me! It takes an open heart and eyes to be aware and sensitive. Of course it is not only about the listener but also about the speaker, and how we communicate our desires. I think Sophia and I have done some important work in that field, and it has only made us stronger and closer!

Now my hot chocolate is all gone....

Thanks for joining me for a treasured moment.
