circle of joy


My Yoga student is coming again. I teach him privately and it is a joy to watch him become more comfortable with the poses and relax in himself.

This exercise is one of our favorites:

"Circle of Joy"
Place your hands in prayer position in front of the heart. Take a deep breath in, interlock your fingers, exhale and stretch your hands away from you (fingers interlocked and palms facing away from you).
Inhale deeply and move your hands over head. Exhale and release your hands. Slowly let them come down surrounding you body clasping them together behind your back. Inhale and lift your hands up, resulting in a nice stretch of the back.
Exhale let go of the hands bring them forward, back into prayer position in front of the heart.

Do it again and again, feel you are surrounding yourself with calmness and joy! Try closing your eyes and solely focusing on the breath.
