Over the years we have had different calendars helping us to celebrate each day and watch how we come closer to Christmas eve. While the children, well Sophia loves to have her little piece of chocolate every morning (thank you Uroma!) we wanted to celebrate each day as a family together. In previous years we made a list of qualities. We would go down the list and celebrate a quality each day, and symbolically place a star on the wall or window. This year we wanted to see what inspires us each day, and we write the quality on each star. After dinner we go around the table and everyone shares when I feel joy, when I am calm, when I experience enthusiasm... It is wonderful to hear Theodore and Sophia share their thoughts and for me to think about and reflect on times I feel happy, express love....
Sophia and I started drawing on some heavy card stock one morning on a weekend. Later we realized that this was the perfect materials to use for our stars this year. Although the cutting out was difficult (my thumb is still numb) the hard work was well worth it.
