picture from a treasured moment at my birthday celebration with my two dear friends
Today was not my best day in terms of patience with myself and therefore my children. You see, as a parent we do have that great responsibility to create the atmosphere and environment for our children. That is a wonderful thing when we know exactly what we want, when everything goes the way we plan, when we have patience to go with the flow if it doesn't.... But it doesn't feel good when we don't have that, when nothing seems to be going the way we would like, when work pulls you one direction, and your family another, and you don't know which way to go and which pull to satisfy first. My tendency is to meet the needs of my children first, but then there is still the thought about work and what to do.
I am sure I am not writing anything new to anyone here. And yet it feels good to write it out. The nice thing about these days is that I usually think about them and become proactive so that the day that follows goes cheerful and confident. So that is what I am looking forward to tomorrow.
Now that I am working from home, creating a private school (looking forward to sharing more about that here as we go along), I need to be more organized about how I use my time. Therefore, I wrote out a little rhythm of our day. Of course I didn't include my flute students, but that is fine for now.
Here we go (and don't laugh, because yes, I did put "shower" on my list! ;))
7AM Rise and Smile
Shower, Meditate, and Straighten Room
8AM Children Breakfast, start dinner prep, and snack for children to eat while I work (so they don't just grab chips!)

This will all loosen up a bit, but it will help me to stay in the swing of things during the summer! ;)
Yay to being back here and good luck to me.
