Mount Madonna Retreat

The last couple of days we spend at the beautiful hill top retreat called Mount Madonna! It was very beautiful and the feeling I received being there I will always be grateful for.

The first day me and the children ventured around the community, went swimming in the lake, played on every playground, explored the magic forest (complete with fairy dust, you have to know!) and finished the day with a trip to the hot tub. We were so relaxed and tired that it was no challenge at all to get everyone to sleep. Amazing what a day in Nature can do!

Just like a typical six year old, Sophia set the pace! First it was a big NO to go hiking in the forest today, but then she suddenly found a stick and off she went, calling back to me, Mama you are so slow!
Aren't we all a little like that? Only moving fast and with energy when we are excited about something. I can say from myself that I am sure to move slower towards my pile of dishes, than to the project I am just working on! ;)

She is very curious, wants to know about everything. There is a beautiful shrine here dedicated to Hanuman. She asked if Hanuman was only coming here on the weekends. I told her that I believe Hanuman is always here. She looked at me and said, oh so he is invisible!? Well, I said, I think when we become very quiet and still inside we can see him. She just looked back at me with her big blue eyes, knowing that I was not just making something up like we sometimes do with cats, and imaginery friends, but that I actually meant it.

In the evening she participated in the Arati, and had some prasad. This morning she said she wanted to go again. Oh, I said, did you like it? Yes, she said, because I got some chocolate for the prasad! :)

The school here is magical as well. It sits right on a mountain top. They have a nice big room over looking the valley! I can see that children have a very wonderful time here, especially because of the beautiful surroundings of Nature. It is hard to beat that!!!!

I am so glad we went and even more grateful that I have my children with me to share this special place and time with!
