our first day of the new year

It was all around a wonderful day. We spend it at the Henry Coe Park, surrounded by beautiful nature, good spirited children, and a long hike that left you feeling tiered but successful and very good at the end!

Here we are embarking on our seven mile hike:

Yes, sweet she is and STRONG, for she walked the whole way and carried a back pack and was in absolute positive mood the whole time!

This one loves to be out doors, and what better way than to be carried on Papa's back?!

We admired beautiful views....

a peaceful lake...

enjoyed warm and encouraging hot chocolate...

attempted to take a family picture (look we are still smiling and at this point we have almost made it!)...

and returned to the car just in time to silently and in awe watch this beautiful sunset!

Oh happy day!
