girls movie and dancing

Don't they look fabulous!!!!
Last night was the night I had been looking forward to for so long. We didn't plan this night until a week ago, but inside of me I wanted a night like this for a long time.

The plan for last night was to go and see "Sex and the City 2" with Barbara, Erica, and Rose.

Well, here is what it turned out to be.

It took trying on many, MANY different outfits for me to get out the door. You can see I am not used to dressing up for a night with the girls. I met the girls by the roses, outside.
We were all excited and giggly when walking into the theater. When I had to go and get something from the car and walked back outside, one of the cashiers threw me a nice complement "You look like one of the ladies in the movie." Of course that was a far catch, but it did feel good and made me walk a little taller in my red high heel shoes. ;)

The movie gave us a few good laughs. We marveled at the over-the-top-ness of EVERYTHING, from dresses, over shoes, architecture, food, to interior design. Oh what fun!

After the movie we drove home and it looked like we were just going our separate ways to our separate homes. We hugged and laughed. On my way to my front gate, I just suddenly had the impulse to not let this night be over yet. I hugged my purse and ran, as fast as my red heels would let me over to Erica. Erica laughed and we went back in the car and were on our way to town.

It just felt so good. Out at night, looking nice and feeling even nicer. Grownups all around, couples, men, women, dressed up and ready to have a good time out. How nice to feel part of that crowd.

The night ended with dancing, dancing like I haven't danced in a long, long time. It was so overdue. To move to music, to let your body go with the rhythm and to just feel good to be you, was what I needed and looked forward to.

We just have to do it again sometime. Of course part of the treasure was that a night on the town does not happen very often, but I don't think we need to wait this long ever again, especially not if that is what is needed and looked forward to.
