panting rocks

For our last project for the craft class we painted rocks. It was a simpler project (compared the multi layer felting activity) and the children loved that. Children are ready to live up to a challenge, if then given the opportunity to relax and have fun with process. Which is why repetition is so important, as the activity might be difficult at first, but becomes easier and more enjoyable with practice and life long learning can take place!

We collected rocks outside, washed them well with soap and went to work with acrylic paint.

It was a perfect opportunity to combine nature and art. Collecting rocks is something many children love. It is like collecting treasures. We looked and carefully examined each one and discovered their original beauty. The children then got their artistic inspiration from the rocks.
