Last night Communitas Charter High School was APPROVED!!!!! Unanimously, by the Santa Clara Board of Education. It was a long night and a long back and forth. The children were getting antsy and we were all pretty tiered, but to stay and wait until they made their vote was so worth it. 
While the meeting was happening I tried to wheel Mateo around in his stroller hoping he would fall asleep, as he didn't sleep in the afternoon. While I was walking with him around the parking lot, really not the ideal place to put a baby to bed, I realized though that this is what we want our lives to be; an adventure! Perhaps my two were staying up way past bedtime and fell asleep in the car afterwards, they were part of something big, important, and meaningful to us and many other people. In that moment I felt a sense of pride that I was wheeling my little boy around outside, knowing that there are plenty of regular bedtime routines to be had, and that tonight was about something bigger and of greater importance.
Sophia was excited and wrote little messages for her Papa.
Her hope came true and now the work BEGINS!!!!
