a happy day

Today was a happy day. So glad when they come by, when everyone just seems to be cheerful with what every it may be....

In preparation for Sophia's third party I finally made it to sew a garland. I followed this really well organized and helpful tutorial.

I love coming home after a vacation away from home. Coming back makes me appreciate and look at everything with a fresh eye.

This little garland just added a little new touch to our home, at least for her celebration, and after, I am not sure yet where it will find a home.

Since spring is in full force here in CA I went with Sophia to the nursery and bought some perennials. We can't wait to add them to our little garden. Sophia is enthusiastic about gardening. Today she spend the afternoon working her way through our little garden, raking leaves and transplanting little green shoots she found. (I think most people would call them weeds, but to her they were precious plants that she took care of in her own designated area).

Usually I can't really afford to buy fresh flowers, and every time they just seem to smile at me when I walk into the store. Why do they need to place them directly by the entrance?!
But today there were too many excuses not to buy a bunch, spring, another week of vacation, Sophia's party (oh there need to be flowers on the table for that! ;)) and then there is Easter....
So, a couple bunches of Ranunculus made their way into our cart. Now they are sitting in our living room and while typing I keep looking over to them, enjoying their fullness and color and it just makes me happy. They were well worth buying!
